Gaming and other Devices

My Network Contains Many Devices

  • 3x XBOX 360

  • 3x PS3

  • 1x BD Player

  • 1x Wii

  • 2x Fetch TV Mighty

  • 1x Kogan 3D 42in Smart TV

  • 1x Canon Multifunction MX895 Printer, Scanner, FAX, Copier

  • 3x IOS, 6 Android mobile Phones (not all mine)

I live in a share house, with my housemates and I we have allot of devices. Allot of the devices do belong to me, however my housemates use the equipment.

When you combine the total amount of devices that connect to the network, the total will exceed 20 devices, which does put a bit of strain on our network occasionally. We are all connected via a single NBN HFC Cable link to the outside world (as opposed to ADSL or Fibre), Our cable link is coaxial to the node then fibre to the exchange so reliability is pretty solid and stable, we get connection speeds of approximately 100Mbps (bits not bytes) download with 40Mbps Up and 7 milliseconds ping.

All of the computers in my house run either Linux (the bread may vary from machine to machine) or windows 10 pro (besides my netbook) or are all added to the Domain Hosted by my main server running Server 2016

All Devices are connected Via Ethernet when possible to maintain reliability.
